Superior Trends

Direct Mail Without the Usual Hassle.

Superior Trends handles the planning, creative, production, and mailing so you don't have to piece the campaign together yourself.

The exact process depends on whether you run a local business or an ecommerce brand, but the basic idea is simple.

Start With the Right Audience and Offer

Before we design anything, we figure out who the campaign should reach and what they should receive.

For a local business, that might mean reaching past customers with a seasonal service or reactivation offer.

For an ecommerce brand, it might mean taking a promotion that already works in email and mailing it to a selected group of previous buyers.

The postcard comes after the strategy, not before it.

The Basic Process

1

We Learn About Your Business

We gather the information needed to understand your customers, your offer, and what you want the campaign to accomplish.

This is kept as simple as possible. We don't need you to write a marketing plan for us.

2

We Choose Who to Mail

The right audience depends on the campaign.

For customer reactivation, that may be people who bought from you in the past but haven't returned recently.

For ecommerce, it may be a segment of previous buyers that fits the offer we're testing.

The goal is to avoid mailing everyone simply because we can.

3

We Build the Campaign

Superior Trends creates the postcard message and design around your business and the reason for the mailing.

You review the campaign before anything is printed.

If something needs to be changed, we change it.

4

We Prepare the Mailing

Once the campaign is approved, we handle the production side.

That can include customer-file preparation, address processing, print coordination, and mailing setup.

Printing and postage costs are approved and paid before the campaign goes into production.

5

The Postcards Go Out

The completed postcards are printed and mailed to the approved audience.

You don't have to coordinate a designer, printer, mailing house, and customer list on your own.

We manage the process.

6

We Look at What Happened

Where appropriate, the campaign can use things like a dedicated offer, QR code, landing page, coupon code, phone number, or another tracking method.

After the mailing, we look at the available results.

Then we decide what makes sense next.

That might mean mailing again, testing something different, expanding the audience, or stopping.

Two Programs. Two Different Approaches.

Local Business Direct Mail

Usually Start With Customer Reactivation

For established local businesses, we usually begin with people who have already done business with you.

You provide the approved customer list and basic information about what you want to promote.

We handle the campaign from there.

Over time, direct mail can also be used for referrals, seasonal promotions, new movers, and carefully targeted new-customer campaigns.

Ecommerce Revenue Recovery

Start With Something That Already Works

For ecommerce brands, we prefer to begin with an offer that has already produced sales.

Instead of inventing a new promotion just for direct mail, we look at what your customers have responded to before and see whether that offer makes sense in another channel.

Then we select an audience, build the postcard, mail the test, and measure what happens.

What We Need From You

We handle most of the campaign, but we still need a few things from your side.

Depending on the program, that may include:

  • —information about your business and offer
  • —an approved customer list
  • —brand assets such as your logo, colors, and product images
  • —details about promotions that have worked before
  • —access to basic campaign results when measurement is needed
  • —approval before the postcard goes to print

We'll tell you exactly what we need and when we need it.

What We Don't Ask You to Do

You shouldn't have to learn postal rules, find a printer, write postcard copy, design the mail piece, or manage several vendors just to test direct mail.

That's the part we handle.

Your job is to know your business.

Ours is to turn that information into a direct-mail campaign and get it into the mail.

A Few Things Worth Knowing

You Approve the Campaign

Nothing goes to print without your approval.

Printing and Postage Are Separate

Printing and postage depend on the size and specifications of the mailing and are paid separately from Superior Trends service fees.

Results Vary

Direct mail is marketing. We don't guarantee response rates, sales, customers, or return on investment.

We Prefer to Test Before Scaling

When it makes sense, we'd rather learn from a reasonable first campaign than make a much larger bet without knowing how the audience will respond.
